Dear RIZP Community,
We have important news about the future of the Renton Innovation Zone Partnership (RIZP).
Our leadership team has made the decision to sunset the organization at the end of 2025. This wasn’t an easy choice—but one made with care and deep respect for the community that’s shaped us since the beginning.
This past year, we’ve seen major shifts in the funding landscape for nonprofits. And at the same time, we also believe that RIZP has done what we set out to do. So much of the work we were created to lead—especially building bridges between families, schools, and systems—has taken root. The timing felt right to sunset, intentionally.
This isn’t goodbye just yet, however, RIZP’s programs will continue as planned in 2025:
Earlier this month, our Spring Bling event was held to celebrate and support students transitioning to middle school; assisting 73 incoming 6th-graders, 222 families, and with the total attendance being 260+ people. During this event, RIZP made a surprise donation of $2,000 to Dimmitt Middle School's building fund to continue to provide support for middle school transition.
Our Summer Learning Program will return from July 7th - August 15th at Bryn Mawr Elementary School
And this fall, we’ll gather for a community celebration to honor RIZP’s legacy and the partnerships that made this work possible.
So please, come be a part of these with us. And to every student, family, educator, community-based organization, supporter, partner, and neighbor who’s walked with us—we thank you. It’s been our honor to serve alongside you.
In Community,
Ryan Quigtar, Christabel Fowler and Jasmine RaeLynn, - The RIZP Team
